Everything I do centres around facilitating connections between people and creation care.
My environmental journey began when I co-founded Green Drinks Singapore in November 2007, which connects businesses, government bodies, media, academia, NGOs and likeminded individuals for knowledge sharing and collaboration opportunities. Not long after, I began contributing stories to Green Kampong, eco-business.com, Home & Decor and other sites.
After hearing so many companies in the business of sustainability talk about difficulties penetrating the market, usually start-ups with great products but little recognition, I tapped into my writing, public relations and environmental background to start Green PR, a public relations consultancy promoting green businesses. These days, my focus lies more in content creation work.
Green Drinks now focuses on improving engagement between stakeholders in the green space. We mainly organise public talks and panel discussions on pertinent local issues, and private engagement sessions.
I studied Mass Communications at Murdoch University majoring in journalism and public relations, and completed a post-graduate diploma in public relations at Curtin University in Western Australia. This was the start of my love for Communications, which was further developed when I joined Hill & Knowlton Singapore (now known as Hill+Knowlton Strategies), and taught the subject to Republic Polytechnic students.
In the last decade, I took a keen interest in urban farming, and I started The Tender Gardener to document my sustainable living journey and put a spotlight on gardening, permaculture and self sufficiency topics. Other than creating web and video content, I teach gardening-related workshops.
Outside of work, I split my time between spiritual pursuits and tending to my garden and chickens.
