About

As a gardener, nature lover and believer of a sustainable society, I connect people to nature and raise awareness of environmental issues through writing and organising events. For several years I worked in communications, and while I no longer do this professionally in the role of a PR practitioner or journalist, I now advocate the need for environmental conservation through other platforms.

I am the President and Co-founder of Green Drinks Singapore, a non-profit environment-focused society that raises awareness on pertinent local and global environmental issues, and connects businesses, government agencies, academia, media, NGOs and individuals for knowledge sharing and meaningful collaboration opportunities. My role also involves engagement with the government, and campaigning work.

I am occasionally featured in the press, speaking on environmental issues and giving my views on how Singapore can make progress in the area of sustainability. For my environmental contributions, I was awarded the EcoFriend Award for 2013 by the National Environment Agency in the Non-governmental Organisations and Grassroots volunteers category, and Junior Chamber International’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World Singapore 2014 merit award in the category of Moral and/or Environmental Leadership.

Through my blog and YouTube channel titled The Tender Gardener, I produce blog and video content focused on gardening, permaculture and other self sufficiency topics.

In my leisure time, I read, write, travel and spending time in the garden fussing over my plants and pet chickens.
