I am a writer, communicator and environmental activist.
As a freelance writer, I contribute business and lifestyle articles on the environment to eco-business.com, my articles have also been featured in Home & Décor magazine. My writing work includes copyediting and copywriting, and I enjoy blogging about gardening, urban farming and self sufficiency at The Tender Gardener. In 2011, I was a finalist in The Singapore Blog Awards for the category of best lifestyle blog. My current projects include two books related to environmental conservation.
In addition, I manage Green PR, a public relations consultancy catered to small and medium environmental businesses, and teach public relations courses to small and medium enterprise founders and communicators.
I am also the President and Co-founder of Green Drinks Singapore, a non-profit environment-focused society that raises awareness on pertinent local and global environmental issues, and connects businesses, government agencies, academia, media, NGOs and individuals for knowledge sharing and meaningful collaboration opportunities. My role also involves engagement with the government, and campaigning work.
I am often featured in the press, speaking on environmental issues and giving my views on how Singapore can make progress in the area of sustainability. For my environmental contributions, I was awarded the EcoFriend Award for 2013 by the National Environment Agency in the Non-governmental Organisations and Grassroots volunteers category, and Junior Chamber International’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World Singapore 2014 merit award in the category of Moral and/or Environmental Leadership. I currently serve on the board of advisors for youth environmental NGO, Avelife.
In my leisure time, I read, write, travel, connect to my spiritual side, woolgather, and dabble as a freelance free-range egg and vegetable farmer.
